Hollywood Pack List

While in Hollywood, groups stay in the DOOR community house and/or a nearby church.  Each participant should bring a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, a towel, and toiletries. There are a few bunk beds available during some weeks in the year.  Please ask the city director in your planning stage if these are necessary for your adults.  Work clothing is a must and other casual/sport clothing as desired. There are no laundry facilities. Participants should also bring Bibles and notebooks. A detailed list of what to bring will be included in the orientation materials sent in the spring.

Hollywood weather can be hot and dry in the summer, and rainy in the winter/spring.  Be prepared to drink lots of water and to protect yourself from the sun. Evenings can be cool, so jackets might be desired.   Dress will always be casual - shorts/jeans and T-shirts being standard (unless attending a Sunday worship service).  Work clothes will be subject to wear, tear and possible stains. Many of the agencies that DOOR works with do require that all volunteers wear long pants.  Pack with this in mind.  It’s a good idea to mark your clothes with your name.  The following is a suggested list:
