Chicago's Ideal Packing List

Chicago spring and summer weather is variable. Expect temperatures to range from 32 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit (Spring) and 50 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (Summer). Dress will always be casual - shorts/jeans and T-shirts being standard. Even on hot days it can get cool at night with the wind coming off of Lake Michigan so bringing a sweatshirt or light jacket is a good idea. Work clothes will be subject to wear and tear and possible paint stains. Some of the agencies that DOOR works with do require that all volunteers wear long pants and closed toed shoes. Pack with this in mind. It’s a good idea to mark your clothes with your name. The following is an ideal list.
